janice wong - the self-confessed ah lian, lover of all things pink. gorgeous air-stewardess turned journalist.
if her name rings a bell yet, she used to write for the recently defunct Streats... where she was the columnist for In Transit. aptly titled for her open and honest discussions on love, life and men. haha, n needless to say i was one ardent follower of all her articles. :)
but that's beside the point.. the fresh merger of the 2 major media companies (mediaworks/sph + mediacorp) meant bye-bye Streats and everything in it. i figured that's it..
was just flipping thru Life! yesterday, n guess what? janice wong wrote the feature article! which is cool cos it's pretty big stuff if u r a journalist to be writing the main article of the day. buuuudddennn, it was on midlifers going travelling together. such a huge change in journalistic genre, u think?
no more (at least not yet) poignant and emotional writings on matters close to her heart... now it's just covering a story the editor decides on, more on interviewing others n less of her own opinions on issues. it's just a different focus. which got me thinking, how does she feel about this change?
but more importantly, it got me questioning: how do we deal with everyday change?
with great resentment? do we wallow in self-pity? complain endlessly? or do we embrace it bravely? or just grite our teeth, hang on and hope it turns out right in e end?
